Remembering Joplin, MO 7 years ago today

7 years ago today, witnessed the violent and devastating EF5 tornado in Joplin,  MO, the most powerful, destructive and deadly tornado that we will probably ever see.

We watched it touch down and enter the southwest side of town then lost it in the rain when we got stopped by downed power lines blocking our road. We came across the damage path minutes later in the center of town after re-routing north and helped with search and rescue for a couple hours. Something we hope to never see again. The scale of damage put Moore in 2013 to shame.
