July has been incredibly active for severe weather this year. 7/8/2020, the Storm Prediction Center issued a Slight Risk for portions of Minnesota and an Enhanced Risk for Nebraska and Kansas. The Ashby Storm formed on the warm front near I-94 . The environment that afternoon had rich moisture with mid-70 degree dew points. At approximately 5:08 p.m. local time, the tornado touched down, NWS Grand Forks issued a tornado warning. The surrounding region was under a severe thunderstorm watch. This epic tornado formed on a tripple point boundary.
